Article: My 2025 Christmas Gift Guide
My 2025 Christmas Gift Guide
Every year I love looking through gift guides, particularly the Fabled Thread team’s (you can see it here). I think it’s so delightful to see what other creative people have on their wish lists — such a great way to get ideas for friends, family, or even your own Christmas wish list!
So I thought I’d share my 2025 Christmas wish list with you, plus a few small businesses I turn to when I’m looking for lovely, unusual gifts.
MY 2025 CHRISTMAS WISH LIST

1. Rootin Tootin & Carbootin cap – I spotted this awesome cap on Jen at the Fabled Thread’s wish list. I’d love to wear it while hunting through all the local Sussex car boot sales. (Tort & Tiger)
2. Dressmaking patterns – I love Merchant & Mills and made a dress from one of their patterns many moons ago. This year I’m hoping to receive The Etta and The Florence patterns so I can start making my own clothes in 2026.
3. De-bobbler – Not the most exciting of gifts, perhaps, but I’d make so much use of this to keep all my woolly jumpers looking their best.
4. Sewing hoop clamp – Although a Fabled Thread sewing kit isn’t on my list this year (I have plenty!), I’d love a clamp for my sewing hoop to make stitching in front of the TV a little easier this winter.
5. Gelli Printing Plates – I’ve been following the amazing Andrew Steinbrecher (@drewsteinbrecher) in the US for a long time, and I really want to try Gelli printing. They’re a bit pricey, but my understanding is that the plates last a long time and are tremendous fun! Available from most good art shops.
6. John Lewis X Sanderson biscuit tin – I just love the colour and shape of this beautiful tin, and it would be perfect for my new pantry — a joyful home for all the family’s sweet treats.
7. St Evals Bay & Rosemary Candle – Honestly my favourite candle of all time! Smells incredible, lasts a long time, and doesn’t break the bank at £15.
8. Emma Bridgewater sewing mug – I’m a big fan of EB mugs; I love the shape and size, and they’re so easy to drink from. Carrying on my sewing obsession, I fell in love with this one after seeing the Fabled Thread team’s personalised versions.
9. Lanx Reed Boots – This is my “you never know” present this year. I love the style of these boots, and they’d be perfect for my new life by the sea and romping around the Sussex Downs.
SMALL CREATIVE BRANDS & ITEMS I LOVE TO SHARE

1. The Fabled Thread – I'm a super fan of Eppie and her incredible business. Her embroidery kits are sublime and make the perfect gift for the winter months — nothing better than a cup of tea in front of the fire with some stitching to do.
2. Brass & Bold – Elsa is a lovely local maker who creates gorgeous contemporary jewellery at really accessible price points. I have a few of her pieces and they’re so wearable — they go with absolutely everything.
3. Tamasyn Gambell – My fellow Good Shepherd Studio mate, Tammy is a screen printer whose bold, patterned fabrics in their punchy colours are all over my house. I even commissioned fabric from her new collection to make curtains for the boys’ new bedrooms. Her homewares range is extensive — from lampshades to notebooks, soft pots (my fave!) to cushions — there’s something for everyone in her Christmas shop.
4. Alicia Breakspear – I love the calm and tranquillity that radiates from Alicia’s work. Her prints capture the beauty and intricacy of nature, and her greetings cards and limited-edition yearly calendar are particular favourites of mine.
5. Make Do Kits – Not technically a small business, but I’m obsessed with these cardboard construction kits after buying one for my five-year-old. He loves being able to saw through the cardboard and build things himself using the child-safe tools included. I’ve since ordered three more for the other kids in the family — such a great gift.
6. Elizabeth Harbour Designs – I’ve coveted Elizabeth’s wooden decorations for a long time and finally met her this weekend at the Bloomsbury Jamboree. Her beautiful pieces did not disappoint, and there were far too many to choose from! I picked a selection of nautical-themed decorations in honour of our big move to the seaside. A little box of 3 or 5 would make such a special gift.
7. Rove knitwear – There’s always a pair of gloves or a scarf on someone’s Christmas list, and Rove is now my go-to. I bought my husband a hat and glove set from them two Christmases ago — he wore them every day through winter. They make gorgeous jumpers too; one nearly made it onto my own wish list this year.
8. Curious Collection Tea Towel – I feel like I should mention my own homewares here! From great stocking fillers like my organic cotton tea towels and Curious Collection notebooks, to the last few remaining cushions and workshop gift vouchers, there’s something for every vintage lover in my Christmas Shop.
9. St. Eval – Appearing on both my lists says it all. I adore St. Eval’s candles, especially Bay & Rosemary. I also spotted their Christmas candle advent calendar the other day — such a wonderful alternative to chocolate.
I hope this inspires you and gives you some ideas for your friends, family and yourself!
