2024
Designed and made in 2024, this series of three works are influenced by the ebb and flow of water, how it changes from wave to wave and we do not know what to expect next. Featuring curving lines which flow from one artwork to the next these pieces are a departure from my usual style and are bold, colourful and playful.
Seas of Change is a series of three artworks influenced by the ebb and flow of water, how it changes from wave to wave in totally unexpected movements. Featuring curving lines that flow from one artwork to the next, these pieces are a departure from my usual style and are bold, colourful and playful.
Made from a vibrant collection of more than 250 vintage and antique keepsakes and found objects, this tumbling arrangement is a snapshot into an individual life showcasing the kind of items we collect and discard at the different stages of our existence.
As a full triptych, this work is over 1.6 metres wide and would be a real statement piece in any art collection.
A few of my favourite vintage and antique keepsakes featured in this triptych are; a hand made green silk rosette, a 'dress-me' paper doll in a blue dress, many lovely games counters, a vintage paper Natwest money bag, diamanté buckle and an old paper driving license book.
Each artwork in the Seas of Change triptych measures:
Left hand artwork: 40cm (wide) x 76cm (high) x 6cm (deep)
Middle artwork: 76cm (wide) x 76cm (high) x 6cm (deep)
Right hand artwork: 40cm (wide) x 76cm (high) x 6cm (deep)
It's professionally framed in an FSC certified wood with a matt black finish. It has hand wrapped fabric fillers and is glazed in ART GLASS AR 70 by Simon at Bushwood Framed, Leytonstone.
