Composition in Orange – Unique Vintage Object Artwork

This bold, joyful artwork brings together over 70 vintage and antique treasures in a vibrant celebration of the colour orange. Composition in Orange is a one-of-a-kind, original assemblage artwork—an eye-catching statement piece that’s rich in character and guaranteed to spark conversation.

Part of my long-running Colour Series, this handmade collage took over three years to complete. Orange is one of the hardest colours to find in vintage collecting, which makes this piece especially rare and rewarding. Carefully sourced and thoughtfully arranged, each object contributes to the story—from colourful board game counters and classic toys to a standout selection of vintage tins, including a beautifully aged Wall-X tin and a striking Bifurcated Rivets tin (that typography!). A miniature pool ball adds a playful touch, while a subtle fishing theme runs through the work, revealed in a vintage fishing fly, a tiny toy fish charm, and a hand-painted sardine sandwich plaque.

This piece, like all my work, is made with as little impact on the planet as possible. Every item has been sourced second-hand and saved from landfill, then carefully arranged on stretched artist’s canvas and professionally framed in FSC-certified wood with a matt black finish, glazed with Art Glass AR 70 by Simon at Bushwood Framed, Leytonstone.
